The Jakoustic Acoustic Fencing kit that we sell and install is regarded as one of the UK’s most efficient tools for the job. It’s very easy to work with and offers a unique unrivalled finish.

You start by installing the tuning fork posts. These are backed up by steel spur posts for installs over 2m high. The posts are installed at 2.4m centres. You then run a heavily pressure treated ‘base board’ inline through the fork posts. These base boards have a flat base, with a Tongue and Groove top. The next step is to proceed by stacking up acoustic boards one on top of another. These run between the posts until desired height is met. This then creates a ‘sealed’ fence, which is vital to achieve Acoustic fence status. The posts are then fixed through the boards to enable a tight seal between the 2.

Counter capping rails are then applied to the top of the fence, again to create a seal and give the capping rail something to fix against. The posts are available in a variety of lengths, but both base boards and acoustic boards come in 4.8m lengths. So although long, this means that a large area can be installed fairly quickly once the posts are in.

We do recommend install the Jakoustic Acoustic Fencing kit posts every 2.4m, and then leaving a 20mm gap between boards that meet in the posts. These joins should be staggered to each other, in the same way bricks are laid. This helps give the whole fence its ultimate strength

Some the images below, also have a layer of weld mesh fencing sitting between boards and fence. THIS IS NOT ESSENTIAL. on this particular install, the fence needed to be graded to SR1, as part of the secured by design initiative. This layer of weld mesh helps bulster security, as it means cutting tools struggle to breach the fence from the outside.
