LSB Fencing and Decking faced a challenging project in Dover, where they had to install Canterbury Combi fence panels. The existing fence was built with unattractive concrete posts and gravel boards. The existing concrete pathway was laid right up to the gravel boards on a steep slope, over 200mm thick. The installation process was difficult due to these conditions.

We wouldn’t normally don’t work with concrete fencing products, but the customer in Dover requested to keep the existing gravel boards. For the Canterbury Combi fence installation, they first removed the old fence panels and carefully broke out the concrete posts to avoid cracking the gravel boards. Heavy Duty slotted timber posts were then placed in the opening between the gravel boards. Due to the site location in Dover being prone to high winds, LSB Fencing installed the posts to a depth of 900mm for stability.

Canterbury Combi Fence Installation Between Heavy Duty Slotted Posts

After installing the Heavy Duty slotted posts, the Canterbury Combi fence installation was placed on top of the existing gravel boards. Because timber posts were used, stainless steel fixings could be utilized to securely attach the panels to the posts. This is not possible with concrete posts. This can enhance the strength and longevity of the fence, especially in areas like Dover with high winds. The Heavy Duty timber posts are also equipped to accommodate capping rails, giving the fence a polished and superior appearance.
