Bespoke Hit and Miss Fence 3.6m high combined with Acoustic Fencing
A bespoke Hit and Miss fence 3.6m high designed and installed by us for WHSmith at their HQ in Swindon. This bespoke Hit and Miss fence 3.6m high was installed alongside a section of Jakoustic Acoustic fencing. This was necessary as the air con units made quite a noise. So whilst the Acoustic fence helped deflect the noise away from residential areas, the Hit & miss provided air flow.
For the bespoke Hit and miss fence 3.6m high design, LSB Fencing used a bespoke Traditional Featherboard post at 3.9m long. This then allowed for 900mm to be ‘dug in’ to the ground with a large concrete footing. This gave the fence a finished height of 3metres. Due to the height, a 100mm x 200mm post was used. These posts were pre morticed before being pressure treated and had the Jacksons standard 25 Year Guarantee.
Four rails were then used, running inline through the pre cut mortices. Rails are slightly smaller than some other firms like to use, at 2.4m long. Some other companies do opt for 2.7 or 3m long, but our experince knows these are more likely to sag over time. As all of LSB Fencing & Deckings work is backed up by a 25 year guarantee, they need to be confident it will last.
The Bespoke Hit and Miss fence 3.6m high was then cladded with planed Hit & miss pales. These were the same as standard panel pales, but 3m long. Due to the 3m height, the Acoustic Fence posts were installed with the metal spur posts. This significantly increases their strength to high winds. LSB Fencing worked alongside UCBuild on this project
